Community Participation

Get out, get involved and stay connected to your community.

Community participation is about being part of the world outside your front door. That might mean joining a sports club, taking a class, volunteering, catching up with friends or getting to community events.

Your support worker travels with you, helps you navigate new places and steps back as your confidence grows. The goal is your independence in the community, not dependence on us.

What this can include

  • Support to attend social and recreational activities
  • Transport and travel training
  • Help joining clubs, groups and classes
  • Support at community events and outings
  • Building social skills and confidence
  • Support to volunteer or study
