NSW Carer (NSW Carer Pty Ltd ATF NSW Carer, ABN 29 432 584 705) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

Depending on your relationship with us, we may collect:

• Contact details: name, phone number, email address, home address
• NDIS details: participant number, plan information, goals
• Health information relevant to delivering safe supports
• Emergency contact and family details
• Employment information for job applicants
• Messages you send through our website contact form

Why we collect it

We collect personal information to deliver NDIS supports safely, respond to enquiries and referrals, meet our obligations under NDIS rules, process job applications and improve our services. We only collect what we need for these purposes.

Health information

Health information is sensitive information under the Privacy Act. We collect it only with your consent and use it only to plan and deliver your supports. Our staff access it on a need-to-know basis.

How we store and protect it

Personal information is stored in secured systems with access limited to authorised staff. Website contact form messages are sent to us by email over encrypted connections. We keep records only as long as required by law and NDIS rules, then destroy them securely.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only when needed to deliver your supports (for example with your consent, with other providers involved in your care), when required by law or when required by the NDIS Commission or NDIA.

Website analytics

Our website uses our own measurement tool, hosted with the rest of the site. When you visit we record the pages you view, the time of each view, how long you stay on a page, the address of the page that referred you, your screen size, your browser type and language, your IP address and the country it points to. We also record when you tap a phone number or email link, so we know which contact options are useful. Each browsing session gets a random number that is forgotten when you close the tab. We use this to understand which pages are useful and how people find us, and we keep it so we can see how use of the site changes over time. We do not use cookies, we do not use third party analytics services and we never share this information.

Access and correction

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within 30 days.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
